Mr. Khan is a Consultant Cardiac Surgeon with a specialist focus on minimally invasive heart surgery. He is dedicated to helping patients achieve faster recovery and return to normal life sooner through the use of advanced, less invasive surgical techniques.
He has extensive experience in heart valve repair and replacement, coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), and complex aortic surgery. Mr. Khan completed his specialist training through the London Deanery Cardiothoracic Programme, where he developed expertise in complex aortic and mitral valve surgery. He has since played a key role in introducing innovative techniques within his unit, including pioneering a minimally invasive conduit harvesting programme, significantly improving outcomes for patients undergoing bypass surgery.
He has performed the first endoscopic-assisted aortic valve replacement at King’s and has led his team in performing the first use of the Neo ED Frozen Elephant Trunk device for complex aortic arch surgery in South London.
Mr. Khan also has expertise in the surgical management of carcinoid heart disease, including complex valve surgery in patients with carcinoid syndrome.
Alongside his clinical practice, he is an active researcher and educator. He has authored over 50 peer-reviewed publications and regularly presents at national and international cardiothoracic surgery conferences. His research focuses on improving patient safety, surgical outcomes, and innovation in minimally invasive cardiac surgery.
He also holds an MBA from King’s College London, complementing his clinical expertise with strong leadership and healthcare management skills. This enables him to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care while driving innovation and service development in modern cardiac surgery.

As a healthy and active 60-year-old man, needing open-heart surgery was a daunting prospect, but Mr. Khan made the entire experience as reassuring as possible. I underwent a mitral valve repair and aortic valve replacement with a tissue valve, and everything was clearly explained beforehand. The operation was successful with no complications. I was walking around the ward within two days and discharged after just seven days. The care I received was outstanding throughout. What also confirmed that I was in good hands was how highly the nurses and hospital staff spoke of him, independently praising his skill and professionalism. My outcome reflects that reputation. I am extremely grateful and would recommend him without hesitation.
Friendly professional interaction with clear explanations. The whole process has been a positive experience.
Great experience, professional, clear, happy to answer questions relaxed approach
I have had a very positive experience for my surgery. Everything that had to happen was explained in a highly professional manner. Mr Khan, in my opinion, went above and beyond with my care and is a very compassionate man. I am a very grateful patient.
Mr Khan did my heart bypass surgery which i was terrifed to face. He was absolutely fantastic, the surgery went very well, and i felt very supported throughout the whole process. Mr Khan is not only a great surgeon, but a very caring and kind man. Thank you so much
Endoscopic mitral surgery was performed. All the consultants, surgeons and specialist carers were excellent. Whilst in hospital the nursing care was generally of a high standard.
Excellent! He was professional and very human in his approach. He did a great job. I reccomend him fully. 5 starts
I will give 5 stars for the medical and nursing care I receive under Mr Habib Kan and his team. He was very professional and made me feel confident to face major surgery without undue anxiety. I was given necessary information which helped me to understand the procedure and after care. Thank you Mr Kan
I had arterial graft surgery. The procedure was organised very promptly, performed at the time discussed and the after care by the whole team was excellent. Mr Khan explained everything clearly, kept me well informed and followed up regularly after the operation to ensure that I was being looked after and recovering well.
