Dr. Abubaker Ahmed

Dr Abubaker Ahmed is a highly experienced Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatobiliary Medicine specialist at Manchester Royal Infirmary, a leading hospital serving the North West of England. He undertook his medical degree in South Sudan before moving to the UK to continue his medical training in 2007. He completed his Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in the UK in 2018 and has completed a post-CCT Fellowship in Hepatobiliary Medicine at the renowned Manchester Foundation Trust, further adding to his professional skillset.

Dr Ahmed is a Senior Advanced Independent Endoscopist, skilled in performing complex procedures such as endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), which is used to diagnose and treat bile duct and pancreatic conditions, and endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), an advanced imaging technique for detailed assessment of digestive diseases. He is also a certified Bowel Cancer Screener, recognised by the Joint Advisory Group on Endoscopy (JAG-UK).

Alongside his clinical expertise, Dr Ahmed is a certified Endoscopy Trainer, mentoring future specialists. He is actively involved in research at the Pancreas Unit at Manchester Royal Infirmary, supervising doctorate fellows at The University of Manchester, and contributing to numerous publications and international presentations.
