Dr Abigail Tomlins

Dr Abigail Tomlins is a highly skilled Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon and General Surgeon dedicated to delivering compassionate, patient-centred surgical care. Specialising in both benign and malignant breast conditions, Dr Tomlins provides tailored diagnostic evaluation and surgical management designed to meet each patient's individual healthcare needs. Her clinical practice focuses on combining surgical precision with aesthetic reconstruction, ensuring patients receive thorough support and clear guidance throughout their treatment pathway.

With extensive expertise in General Surgery and specialist breast care, Dr Tomlins performs a wide range of procedures, including breast-conserving surgery, mastectomy, local flap reconstruction, and fat grafting. She plays an active role in rapid-access diagnostic assessment, breast screening, and multidisciplinary cancer care. Beyond her direct surgical practice, Dr Tomlins has held prominent administrative and educational roles, including serving as Chief of Service, Director of Breast Screening, and Royal College of Surgeons Tutor. She remains deeply committed to advancing healthcare quality, clinical safety, and overall patient experience.

Dr Tomlins completed her undergraduate medical degree at the University of Birmingham Medical School, graduating with honours in surgery and medicine in 2001. She subsequently completed Higher Surgical Training in General Surgery, obtaining her Membership and Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons, with specialist qualification in General Surgery in 2012. To complement her surgical expertise, she completed a specialised Oncoplastic Fellowship, a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Oncology in 2015, and a Master of Business Administration with distinction in 2022. Dr Tomlins is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
