Royal Lancaster Infirmary

The Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI) is a comprehensive hospital that offers a range of general healthcare services, including emergency care, critical care, and consultant-led beds. Additionally, the hospital provides various planned care options such as outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day-case, and inpatient surgery.

The hospital restaurant, located on the lower ground floor of the Centenary Building, is open seven days a week, serving homemade food that is locally sourced. The Royal Voluntary Service operates a shop and tea bar near the main outpatients department, offering various items, including cards, magazines, newspapers, and hot and cold snacks and drinks. Additionally, a small café, serving a selection of sandwiches, snacks, and Costa Coffee, is located in the main Centenary Building entrance and is open Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5.30 pm.

General Office is located in Medical Unit 1 and is open on weekdays from 8:30am to 4:30pm. Patients and visitors at Furness General Hospital, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary, and Westmorland General Hospital can now access free Wi-Fi thanks to suggestions from staff, governors, GPs, and members of the public. Hospital visits can be stressful, and the availability of Wi-Fi may help ease the strain for patients and visitors by providing a way to pass the time.

For patients with a hearing impairment, personal listening devices are available at most clinic reception areas, which are easily identifiable by the standard RNID purple notice.
