Professor Howard Branley was extremely polite & went through a thorough consultation with me in regards to the test that I would be completing in order to obtain my CAA Class 1 Medical. Everything about my stay at Papworth was excellent. Mr Còonar explained to me in detail what to expect in his calm manner, so I was well prepared for my surgery. The nurses were all caring and courteous, and I would like to give special mention to Libby, Kristina and young Becky. The whole ambience of Papworth was one of calm from the moment one set foot inside the Atrium. It seemed to me that no-one was in a hurry, that appointments ran on time, and everyone I met was pleasant and cheerful. In short, Papworth is unlike any other NHS hospital I have ever been to. It comfortably stands comparable to private hospitals, especially in terms of accommodation and in the friendliness of its staff. Perhaps this is because it has no A&E department, meaning that surgery and appointments run smoothly without having to be delayed by an emergency, enabling it to run like clockwork. Finally I would reserve special praise to Mr Coonar for his successful surgery on my lung. It has been my good fortune and pleasure to meet him. Thank you so much.

I came to Dr Bownes for a second opinion on two MRIs of my knee. He did not provide a clear response to whether my ACL was damaged despite repeatedly asking him, and he did not seem worried my knee pain was left undiagnosed. I did not feel my concerns were heard during or after the meeting, or that he looked at the MRIs carefully, and he seemed to have made up his mind before looking at them. Dr. Bownes did not seem very interested in my case.
