Dr James Scorer

Dr James Scorer is a highly dedicated Paediatrician who provides comprehensive, family-centred care for infants, children, and adolescents. With a career that spans South Africa, the United Arab Emirates, New Zealand, and Australia, he brings a wealth of international expertise to his clinical practice. As a Consultant Paediatrician and Consultant Neonatologist, Dr Scorer is deeply committed to supporting families through the unique challenges of childhood development and health.

Dr Scorer completed his medical degree at the University of Pretoria in South Africa, graduating in 1982. He subsequently undertook his specialist paediatric training through the University of Stellenbosch, where he qualified with a Master of Medicine in Paediatrics. His professional credentials include a Fellowship of the College of Physicians of South Africa and a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. Additionally, he holds a Graduate Certificate in Allergic Diseases and a Master of Science in Zoology.

Throughout his career, Dr Scorer has developed a broad range of clinical interests, with a particular focus on neonatology and newborn care. He is highly skilled in managing paediatric allergies, asthma, and immune health, as well as addressing learning, developmental, and behavioural concerns such as anxiety, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and Autism Spectrum Disorder. His practice also encompasses general paediatrics, growth and puberty concerns, gender dysphoria, and gastrointestinal health, including the impact of bowel microflora on overall wellbeing.
