Dr Gareth Wynn is a consultant at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and is European Heart Rhythm Association (EHRA) certified in electrophysiology. His scope of practice covers electrophysiology studies and ablations as well as pacemaker and defibrillator implantations (including biventricular and subcutaneous devices). Dr Wynn specialises in the management of heart rhythm disorders, and he is one of only two cardiologists in Victoria who can extract chronically implanted pacemakers and defibrillators.

Dr Wynn trained at the University of Manchester, England, before going on to complete a research degree on atrial fibrillation at the prestigious Imperial College London. He then undertook specialist higher training in cardiology and electrophysiology at the Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital before moving to Australia in 2015.
Dr Wynn remains heavily involved in research with his work being cited in the current international guidelines. He has won a number of awards for his research including from the British Heart Rhythm Society, the British Cardiovascular Society, and the British Heart Foundation.
