A/Prof Han Ling is a highly experienced cardiologist with a focus on heart rhythm disorders, including atrial fibrillation (AF), supraventricular tachycardia (SVT), Wolff-Parkinson-White (WPW) syndrome, and ventricular tachycardia (VT). He specialises in catheter ablation and advanced rhythm management strategies, helping patients regain quality of life through personalised, evidence-based care.
A/Prof Ling obtained his medical degree at the University of Adelaide in 2002. He undertook physician training in Adelaide, and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians as a fully-qualified cardiologist in 2010. He completed his PhD (2012) in AF and heart failure under Professors Peter Kistler and Jonathan Kalman at the University of Melbourne. Concurrently, he trained as an EP Fellow at the Alfred Hospital and RMH. After a further fellowship year in Monash Medical Centre, he spent 2 years at Barts Heart Centre (London UK), Europe’s largest cardiovascular centre, as a senior EP fellow. He returned to Melbourne to begin independent EP practice in 2015.
A/Prof Ling is a clinical associate professor and PhD supervisor at the Dept of Medicine (RMH), University of Melbourne, as well as Monash Alfred Baker CV Research, Monash University. He is responsible for clinical supervision and training of cardiology registrars, fellows, and PhD candidates.
A/Prof Ling holds joint academic appointments at the University of Melbourne and Monash University. His research and clinical leadership centre around AF and heart failure, and he has helped shape the next generation of heart rhythm specialists through his role at The Alfred Hospital.
Known for his thoughtful and compassionate approach, A/Prof Ling is passionate about empowering patients to understand their condition and take control of their heart health.
