Dr William Scotton

Dr William Scotton is a Consultant Neurologist who provides expert assessment and management across general neurology, movement disorders, and cognitive neurology. He cares for patients experiencing a wide range of neurological symptoms, including headaches, dizziness, tremors, seizures, blackouts, double vision, muscle weakness, sensory disturbances, and balance impairment. Taking a compassionate, patient-centred approach, Dr Scotton conducts detailed consultations to ensure accurate diagnosis and personalised, supportive care plans tailored to each individual and their family.

With dedicated sub-speciality expertise, Dr Scotton focuses on movement disorders such as Parkinson's disease, dystonia, and atypical parkinsonian syndromes, alongside cognitive conditions including Alzheimer's disease, frontotemporal dementia, and mild cognitive impairment. His clinical practice encompasses specialised procedures including botulinum toxin administration for conditions such as cervical dystonia, blepharospasm, and hemifacial spasm. In addition to his clinical work, he serves as an Associate Professor leading research initiatives focused on biomarker discovery, neurodegenerative diseases, and expanding patient access to clinical trials.

Dr Scotton earned his undergraduate degree in Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry from the University of Oxford before completing his medical degree with distinction at King's College London, qualifying in 2011. He subsequently undertook specialist clinical training in neurology alongside a doctoral degree at University College London, concentrating on genetic risk factors and neuroimaging in neurodegenerative diseases. A Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, Dr Scotton maintains professional memberships with the Association of British Neurologists, the Movement Disorder Society, and the International Society for Frontotemporal Dementias.
