Mr Vivek Upasani

Mr Vivek Upasani is a highly dedicated Consultant General Surgeon who delivers high-quality surgical care for a broad range of abdominal conditions. Known for his compassionate approach, he focuses on delivering personalised and evidence-based surgical solutions that prioritise patient comfort, safety, and optimal clinical outcomes.

In his clinical practice, Mr Upasani undertakes a diverse scope of general and complex surgical procedures. His practice in General Surgery includes minimally invasive keyhole operations such as laparoscopic gallbladder removal (cholecystectomy) alongside hernia repairs for groin, umbilical, and abdominal wall hernias. Additionally, he holds dedicated sub-specialist expertise in hepatobiliary surgery and liver transplantation, routinely participating in multidisciplinary care for complex liver and biliary conditions.

Mr Upasani earned his primary medical qualification (MBBS) from the University of Mumbai in 1996. He subsequently completed extensive postgraduate surgical training, attaining a Master of Surgery (MS), Diplomate of National Board (DNB), and a Postgraduate Diploma in HPB Cancers from European University in France. He holds professional qualification as a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (MRCS) and maintains active membership with the college.
