I had ACL reconstruction and meniscus repair surgery in June, and I’m absolutely delighted with how my recovery is progressing. My main aim from the beginning was to get back to playing high-level rugby, and my surgeon was fully supportive of that goal. He was keen to help me get back to the level I wanted to reach and made me feel confident throughout the whole process. From surgery onwards, his professionalism, knowledge and care have been outstanding. I’m now making an amazing recovery, and I’m incredibly grateful for the skill and dedication that went into my treatment. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing ACL reconstruction or meniscus repair. Thank you for helping me get back on the road to achieving my goal of returning to high-level rugby!

Mr Balachandar explained why a full knee replacement couldn't be done however gave another option of a knee cap replacement which would give me quality of life with my children given my age 45. Mr Balachandar explained the procedure to make sure I knew what would be happening. There was a visit pre and post op by Mr Balachandar which was good as sometimes another colleague is sent. I felt that even though there was a mishap with the kit which was out of Mr Balachandars control he still did his best to get me back in again as soon as possible and ensured everything was in place and ran smoothly.

My 19 year old son Billy needed a right MPFL plus TTO. This was done by Mr Balachandar at Mexbrough Montague hospital on the 4th November 2025. Mr Balachandar from day one was excellent with Billy. He fully understood that Billy loved his football and sport but unfortunately kept having recurring dislocation of his right knee. Mr Balachandar explained the full extent of the operations and any risks involved but also was really positive about the fact he could potentially be involved in future sports if the operation went well, depending obviously on any kind of unexpected things along the way. He fully managed Billys expectations. On the day of the operation he came to see Billy and explained once again what was happening. He came to see him after the operation and explained everything that he had done and also kept him overnight to manage pain as he was last down to theatre. Dr Balachander told us we could contact the clinic at any time with any questions or for any advise and gave us full advise on medication and physio. From there on, in clinic he was very informative about any questions and excellent at praising Billy for doing so well and listening to physio etc. we are now 9 month down the line and have an open appointment for 6 months. Yet again we still feel we can contact them if needed and are confidant that Mr Balachandar will put our mind at rest.

My elderly father attended in his wheelchair and was catered for extremely well. Mr Balachandar was excellent. He explained our choices thoroughly and gave my dad time to think and for us to ask questions. The preparation in reviewing dad’s medical records and X-rays made us feel confident that he was receiving the most appropriate treatment. I was impressed by his professionalism as well as his friendly and supportive manner. Overall it was a very positive visit and Mr Balachandar made an excellent impression.

Mr Balachandar is always very professional but is also very approachable and down to earth, he explains things in layman's terms which is nice and always open to questions. He gives a good vibe and you feel in safe hands with him.

I was seen very quickly after arriving. My consultant was very professional & friendly. I understood everything he told me, and was happy with the outcome of my visit.
