Mr Timothy McBride

Mr Timothy McBride is an accomplished Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in the diagnosis, management, and surgical treatment of conditions affecting the upper limb. Focusing on disorders of the shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand, he provides structured, compassionate, and reassuring care aimed at restoring mobility, relieving pain, and improving overall quality of life. His clinical approach emphasises clear communication and patient-centred care, ensuring individuals feel fully supported throughout their diagnostic and treatment pathway.

In his clinical practice, Mr McBride treats a wide spectrum of upper limb conditions, ranging from shoulder instability, frozen shoulder, and rotator cuff pathology to degenerative joint conditions such as shoulder, elbow, hand, and wrist arthritis. He possesses extensive expertise in keyhole surgical techniques and complex reconstructive procedures, regularly performing rotator cuff repairs, primary and revision shoulder replacements, primary and revision elbow replacements, and shoulder and elbow arthroscopies. Additionally, he provides dedicated care for peripheral nerve compression syndromes and soft tissue disorders, routinely conducting carpal tunnel decompression, ulnar nerve decompression, Dupuytren's contracture release, and trigger finger surgery.

Mr McBride earned his medical degree, MBChB with Honours, from the University of Birmingham in 2001. Following comprehensive postgraduate surgical training, he obtained his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Trauma and Orthopaedics in 2010. To maintain high standards of practice and remain aligned with modern surgical advancements, he holds active professional memberships with the British Orthopaedic Association, the British Elbow and Shoulder Society, and the Royal College of Surgeons.

In addition to his clinical responsibilities, Mr McBride plays an active role in medical education. As an Educational Lead, he contributes to regional orthopaedic training programmes, regularly teaching on FRCS examination preparation and advanced surgical skills courses to support the professional development of future orthopaedic surgeons.
