Dr Timothy Lawrence

Dr Timothy Lawrence is a dedicated Consultant Neurosurgeon and Consultant Paediatric Neurosurgeon with expertise in managing complex surgical conditions of the central nervous system. Adopting a patient-centred approach, Dr Lawrence provides compassionate and reassuring care to patients and families navigating intricate neurological conditions. His clinical focus encompasses the diagnosis, surgical treatment, and long-term management of disorders affecting the brain, skull, and spine.

Dr Lawrence possesses specialist expertise in paediatric neurosurgery, craniofacial surgery, and paediatric major trauma. His broad spectrum of surgical management includes treating acute traumatic brain injury, craniosynostosis, hydrocephalus, brain tumours, and craniocervical junction abnormalities. Furthermore, Dr Lawrence maintains strong clinical interests in neurovascular conditions, spasticity management, vagus nerve stimulation, and skull base abnormalities, working collaboratively within multidisciplinary surgical teams to deliver comprehensive patient care.

Dr Lawrence completed his higher surgical training in neurosurgery, followed by a dedicated sub-specialty fellowship in paediatric neurosurgery and craniofacial surgery. He holds a Bachelor of Medicine (BM) degree as well as a Doctorate of Philosophy (DPhil), which investigated the role of imaging biomarkers in acute traumatic brain injury. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Neurosurgery (FRCS(SN)) and actively contributes to clinical research and neurosurgical education focused on improving outcomes in head trauma and paediatric surgical care.
