Tilemachos Pissas is a Senior Physiotherapist and Sports Rehabilitation Specialist based in London, working primarily in private practice where he manages a diverse caseload of athletes and active individuals, from high-performing amateurs to elite professionals. He is particularly recognised for his expertise in shoulder and upper limb rehabilitation, especially in overhead and contact athletes, combining detailed biomechanical assessment with performance-based programming to optimise long-term outcomes.
He specialises in complex shoulder pathology, post-operative rehabilitation (including ACL reconstruction, shoulder and hip surgery), tendon-related pain, and comprehensive return-to-sport testing. He uses diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound to support the assessment of MSK conditions and to help guide clinical decision-making alongside thorough physical examination.
As a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA CSCS), Tilemachos bridges the gap between rehabilitation and high performance, integrating strength profiling, load management, and advanced rehabilitation principles to ensure patients return stronger, more resilient, and performance-ready.
He has extensive experience working in elite sport environments, including professional tennis and football, and currently works within the academy system of Arsenal FC, supporting the rehabilitation, load management, and performance development of elite youth footballers within a Category One academy structure.
Earlier in his career, he served in Greece as a physiotherapist within the Hellenic Army’s Supreme Sports Council, working as both a military medic and clinician supporting national-level athletes and military personnel. This role strengthened his expertise in acute injury management and high-performance rehabilitation.
Tilemachos presents annually at orthopaedic and sports medicine conferences on shoulder rehabilitation, performance optimisation, and return-to-play strategies. He is currently an MSc candidate in Strength and Conditioning at St Mary’s University, Twickenham, further advancing his expertise in performance science and athletic development.
As an active top-tier UK water polo athlete, he brings a unique dual perspective as both clinician and competitor, delivering performance-driven, evidence-based care grounded in elite sport.

Tile is great. He fixed my long suffering tennis elbow with the appropirate treatment. He is polite and v professional. thanks
Tile explains things throughly and helps me understand (not just solve) my elbow recovery process.
I recently had a session with Tilemachos as part of my ongoing treatment, and it has been great as always. He’s always asking about progress and any changes, and recommends exercises that make a difference in my recovery.
Excellent support and guidance, delivered in a professional manner.
I’ve been seeing this physio for several years, and he’s been fantastic. He’s helped me recover from a number of different injuries over the years, and his knowledge, professionalism, and treatment have always been excellent. He takes the time to understand the problem, explains everything clearly, and creates effective treatment plans that really work. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking for a skilled and reliable physiotherapist.
I have been attending for a while and have seen clear improvement in my hamstring.
Tile is an excellent physiotherapist. I saw him for a shoulder injury that I sustained during jiujitsu and he provided me me an accurate diagnosis and an effective rehabilitation program. I am now 8 weeks post injury and thanks to his treatment the pain has subsided significantly, I have full mobility back in my shoulder and I am looking forward to returning to training and competing. None of this would be possible without his help!
As a calisthenics athlete doing multiple and heavy trainings, I was diagnosed with shoulder impingement syndrome which is quite serious and needs immediate attention . I made a thorough research of a good physician and found Tilemachos who has excellent reviews. Tilemachos explained me from the very first moment what exactly is the issue with my shoulder, what I should avoid and how I could help it recover faster with examples. That’s was very useful as I could put into context all the everyday movements I could potentially make and harm it and thus protect myself. After that we immediately put together a 3 months recovery plan. The plan included regular check ups to of my progress and re-evaluation. Tilemachos was showing me all the exercises first in his lab and then he was also sending them to me on email. As I was doing progress we were changing the exercises to make the shoulder even stronger and finally get healed. So overall quite happy from the whole process including communication, plan and execution. As such, I would highly recommend Tilemachos.
Tile is an amazing physio. He has expertise in upper limb injuries (pre/post surgery) and sports injuries. He emphasises in perfection and always tries to upskill his knowledge. Highly recommended clinicial.
