Dr Thulasi Balakumar is an esteemed Consultant Paediatrician who specialises in diagnosing and managing a broad spectrum of paediatric conditions. With a reassuring and compassionate approach, she is dedicated to providing high-quality, individualised care to infants, children, and young people. Her clinical practice encompasses general paediatrics, with a particular focus on supporting families through complex medical journeys and ensuring that every child receives the most effective treatment tailored to their unique needs.

Throughout her career, Dr Balakumar has developed significant expertise in several key sub-specialties. She has a special interest in paediatric diabetes and endocrinology, alongside extensive experience in neonatal care, paediatric infectious diseases, and advanced treatments for congenital disorders. She is also highly passionate about innovations in paediatric immunology and has previously been instrumental in setting up dedicated paediatric epilepsy clinics, demonstrating her commitment to addressing multi-disciplinary and complex healthcare needs.

Dr Balakumar is a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (FRCPCH). In addition to her clinical work, she has a strong interest in medical education and leadership.
