It was thorough - and he gave me all the time needed & especially good advise
Very professional and attentive
We met with Dr MacLaren, who carried out a memory test on my husband. He was very sympathetic, and caring, and on the second consultation he was able to provide us with a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s,. Whilst obviously devastating to receive, it was necessary to know what exactly we are dealing with. Dr MacLaren was able to prescribe some medication which will hopefully help with this condition. And also he was able to provide us with advice, and links to organisations who can help us going forward. We would highly recommend Dr MacLaren, to anyone in need of this kind of consultation..
The doctor was clear and friendly, but I won't know whether he can help me with my request to get on the new Alzheimer medication.
Immediately put me at my ease with his calm, gentle manner. Gave me time to answer his questions fully without rushing. Listened acutely and recorded comprehensively. Perfect bedside manner for a nervous patient, I felt apprehensive before the appointment but left feeling relaxed and content in the knowledge that an experienced doctor knew exactly my challenges and had begun to map a way forward with sympathy and support throughout. I highly recommend this consultant.
There is not much to add, but Dr McLaren epitomised the general replies I have made earlier.
He was empathetic, extremely knowledgeable, and very easy to engage with, to enable you to share your own experience. I have never come across a Doctor with his detailed level of knowledge, and the ability to share it in a manner which was so easy understandable to mere mortals like me He gave tremendous written assessment which was comprehensive, relevant and of great value to others who were providing help to me.
Charming, intelligent and very interesting consultant. Highly recommend.
