Dr Ankush Sharma

Dr Ankush Sharma is a highly accomplished Consultant Psychiatrist with over 24 years of experience in the field of mental health. Since qualifying from the University of Pune in 2002, he has cultivated extensive expertise across both the NHS and private sectors. He progressed through specialist psychiatric training and clinical roles before being admitted to the GMC Specialist Register in 2018, subsequently developing more than five years of experience at consultant level, including clinical leadership responsibilities.

His clinical background is marked by experience in some of the UK’s most complex psychiatric environments, including forensic settings. This has provided him with extensive experience of severe mental illness, personality disorders and crisis management. His work in high-intensity environments such as Broadmoor Hospital has strengthened his ability to assess complex presentations systematically and calmly, with careful consideration of both immediate concerns and the wider clinical picture.

Dr Sharma is particularly noted for his work in neurodevelopmental disorders and mood stability. He maintains a holistic approach to psychiatric care, ensuring that diagnostic assessment is paired with a personalised treatment plan. His expertise includes the assessment and treatment of Adult ADHD, supporting patients from the initial diagnostic process through to the development of practical, individualised strategies for long-term management. He also has experience in the assessment and treatment of personality disorders, anxiety, depression and psychosis.
