Mr Thomas Finnigan

I am delighted with my treatment. Both knee replacements have been a huge success. I was in pain with a low quality of life prior to the procedures but was kindly reassured about every step of the operation by Thomas. All my questions were fully answered and I felt that I knew what to expect from the procedure and my recovery period. Due to the excellent results I was keen to undertake my second operation and did so within 4 months. Again all went smoothly and despite living alone I was quickly undertaking a good range of activity. Now almost 12months since my last operation I have a great range of movement, including kneeling to garden, jogging on a treadmill and being swift enough to play with and chase my toddler grandchildren. I can walk naturally for long periods of time and even wear heels when I want to. Although my physical recovery is beyond my expectations, the real difference was Thomas. He inspires trust and confidence, is so very kind and approachable. I recommend him to anyone thinking of a knee replacement.

Very clear and professional

I recently underwent a robotic total knee replacement. I have had a fantastic result and had a really quick and problem free post operative recovery. Mr Finnigan is an excellent surgeon. From initial consultation to discharge he explained everything and answered all our questions. Highly recommended

Tom was very clear and had an excellent way of explaining the injury to my son. The way he dealt with an 11 year old was first class.

8 weeks in now and I can walk a 400m without my crutch, but always take it just in case. Early days yet but thinks seem to be going well, he told me that a fully recovery can realistically take up to a year Mr Finnigan (Tom), is very professional and very down to earth. He tells you like it is !!! He came highly recommended via a friend of my son who works with him at Stepping Hill hospital. I would like to think of him as a friend now.

I was apprehensive about having knee surgery but Mr Finnigan was helpful, professional and positive in his attitude and also honest about the fact that things would be painful post op. All my questions were answered and explained if necessary. The hospital staff were kind and professional and explained why certain procedures were necessary. I had physiotherapy at the hospital and the physiotherapist has been helpful and positive in his attitude to my recovery. I was shown how to do some of the exercises and given clear instructions for further work via my iPad which has been useful.

On my first viist to theatre the nursing staff did not give me any seditive when I showed signs of anxiety. Mr Finnigans care and concern was excellent and the operation did not proceed. On my second visit to theatre 3weeks later there was a mix up with my records which involved my bloods, and so I was placed at the end of Mr. Finnigans rota that day. I feel this may have been an administrative error and although various members of staff were apologetic it was a stressful situation for myself.

We received a detailed analysis and explanation about treatment options and recommendations. We are extremely thankful that a surgery could be scheduled so quickly.
