Mr. Edward Gee is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon, specialising in treating conditions of the foot and ankle. He treats a wide range of foot and ankle disorders, including the following:

• Sports injuries of the foot and ankle, including ligament and tendon injury
• Ligament repair, reconstruction and synthetic grafting
• Achilles tendonitis and rupture
• Bunions - open surgery and minimally invasive surgery
• Painful toes - hammer toes, claw toes, plantar plate tears
• Plantar fasciitis
• Major and minor deformity correction such as flat foot and high arches
• Arthritis of the foot and ankle including ankle replacement
• Minimally invasive surgery
• Ankle arthroscopy (keyhole)
• Fractures of the foot and ankle, both simple and complex

Mr Gee graduated from the University of Birmingham's medical school in 2008 and completed his orthopaedic higher surgical training in Manchester in 2018 which included training in ankle replacements at well-known centres of excellence. He was accepted onto the specialist register as a Consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedics and was later appointed as a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon at Salford Royal NHS Hospital, the "major trauma centre" for the Manchester region, where he specialises in foot and ankle surgery and cares for the most seriously injured patients.

Mr Gee was awarded travelling fellowship awards from the British Orthopaedic Association and the prestigious gold award from the British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society. He travelled to Melbourne to complete a further training fellowship with highly regarded foot and ankle specialists, Tim Schneider, David Shepherd, and Paul Rice from the renowned Melbourne Orthopaedic Group. This additional specialist training increased his specialist surgical repertoire and abilities, enabling him to provide a wider range of cutting edge techniques, tailored to his patients.

Mr Gee offers a comprehensive service, treating all conditions of the foot and ankle and will always ensure he has tried to exhaust best possible non-surgical treatments prior to surgery. He prides himself on providing a personalised service, taking the time to explore the patient's condition, the impact it has on their life, ensure that the correct diagnosis has been made and that treatment is bespoke to the patient and their needs.

Mr Gee has a specialist interest in treating foot and ankle injuries in elite athletes including those at premier league and national level. He regularly attends national and international courses and conferences to ensure his high demand sporting patients receive gold standard treatment (non-surgical and surgical) and cutting edge techniques. He also teaches on cutting edge techniques and presents his own techniques, work and surgical results in this field.
