Dr Thomas Dowsett is a dedicated Consultant Paediatrician and Consultant Paediatric Nephrologist committed to delivering comprehensive, compassionate medical care to infants, children, and young people. With an objective, empathetic, and reassuring approach, Dr Dowsett works closely with young patients and their families to ensure each child receives personalised, high-quality care across a broad spectrum of general paediatric and specialised kidney conditions.

In his clinical practice, Dr Dowsett focuses on general paediatric medicine alongside specialist diagnosis and management of childhood kidney disorders. His clinical interests include acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, nephrotic syndrome, and renal manifestations of systemic autoimmune conditions such as lupus erythematosus and IgA vasculitis. Dr Dowsett is particularly interested in ensuring safe medication prescribing for children with impaired kidney function, delivering comprehensive non-invasive diagnostic evaluations, and supporting long-term management for conditions requiring complex renal care or transplantation.

Dr Dowsett completed rigorous medical education followed by higher specialist postgraduate training in Paediatrics and Paediatric Nephrology. He remains actively involved in clinical research and academic publications to advance knowledge in paediatric kidney care, while also leading educational teaching programmes for medical trainees.
