He graduated from Bristol Medical School in 2005 before undertaking postgraduate study at a number of major London teaching hospitals and completing two globally recognised sub-specialist fellowships in complex hip and knee surgery. On his return to the UK in 2018, Mr White became a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust. He quickly built a busy hip and knee arthroplasty practice and is the current lead for revision hip and knee surgery. He frequently works with colleagues from other hospitals in the regional network. He treats complex cases at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, where he was named Honorary Consultant in 2020.
Mr White also has a busy trauma practice at University Hospital Lewisham, where he specialises in complex hip and knee fractures. In 2018, he was named Lead for Clinical Governance, and in 2020, he became the Lead for Trauma.

I had three recent hip operations with Mr Thomas White. I was awake under spinal anaesthetic and felt completely safe from the start, as it was clear he was very much in control in the operating theatre. His calm confidence and steady manner put me at ease, especially as I was dealing with a huge personal loss and felt very vulnerable. I am now pain free after suffering from severe debilitating osteoarthritis for many years. He is a brilliant surgeon and I would not hesitate to see him again. I would also wholeheartedly recommend him to my family and friends if the need arises. I will always be grateful for his dedication and everything he has done for me. He has changed my life.
I learnt 50pct of information regarding my diagnosis through questions rather than having it explained in full straight off. Perhaps he assumed I had more medical knowledge than I do. He was very pleasant though.
