Imy Consultation with Mr Baxter with really wonderful he had taken time and care to examine me I was so happy he is a very good Dr, and takes his work seriously I highly recommend him.
Mr Baxter was clear, informative, honest and compassionate. He listened to me, talked me through all of my available options and enabled me to ask questions pre and post surgery. He clearly explained the procedure I was admitted for, performed this endoscopically and as a daycase which has given me a relatively rapid recovery timeframe, prevented a stay in hospital and has reduced my pain effectively. He has subsequently reviewed me at an appropriate timeframe to allow me to get back to my normal life and the pathway to full function and sport again.
My consultation with doctor David Baxter was most informative and his professional review of my spinal problems and more particularily his view of the causes of my pain being confirmed as post shingles pain with no connection to my spine(which has adapted) . Doctor Baxter is in my opinion ,and confirmed by my wife ,who was present, was expertly given and with tremensous empathy
The service and treatment you provide are truly first class. I greatly appreciated the time and care you took to explain why the surgery was necessary and how it would be performed using keyhole endoscopic techniques. As a man in my 80s, I found the idea of surgery very daunting, but you always made me feel that I was in safe and capable hands. I feel blessed to have met you and to have had what I believe has been a very successful operation. Your exceptional skill and compassion have made all the difference. I am deeply grateful, and each day I feel myself getting stronger thanks to your care.
The plan was discussed clearly and professionally from the start, and I felt involved in the decision-making process throughout. My options were all explained in a tone I could understand and a realistic timeline was set. Mr Baxter was extremely knowledgeable and his bedside manner was calm, friendly and polite. The surgery was efficient and without complications. My scar is barely noticeable and my symptoms have disappeared. Due to my high-intensity job, it was crucial to have a motion preserving cervical disc replacement which has enabled me to get back to very high levels of physical functioning soon after my operation.
Endoscopic L4/5 Discectomy. Referred with mild to mid pain but greater impact on mobility with restriction in distance walking limiting range to sub 1000m before effectively non functional leg. Surgery went well. I particularly liked the ease with which Day Surgery was switched to overnight stay at my request. This was hugely beneficial to my ability to safely return home. Overall I am delighted with the expert care and attention afforded to me and forever in David’s debt. Thank you.
The overall experience throughout my surgery from pre assessment to post surgery was fantastic. My recovery has been smooth and quick following the endoscopic surgery.
Very professional and dedicated to seeking resolution for my issue.
David Baxter treated me for neuropathic leg pain and sciatica. I initially went to him for a second opinion but was fortunate that he was then able to take over my care. He went on to perform an endoscopic spinal decompression (lateral recess and foraminotomy). The care I received from David Baxter was excellent throughout. He provided a clearer and more comprehensive explanation of my condition than previous specialists. He laid out a full range of operative and non-operative treatment options. I never felt pressured into surgery by him, indeed he conducted extensive diagnostic work to convince both himself and myself that surgery was a viable option. I could not have been happier with the outcome and am now able to resume a level of physical activity that I feared I would never be able to conduct again. His treatment has been transformative to both my physical and mental health. He is an excellent consultant and I recommend him without reservation.
I would highly recommend Mr David Baxter, an outstanding Consultant Neurosurgeon with exceptional expertise in complex spine, spinal oncology, trauma, and spinal cord injury. Mr Baxter combines excellent technical skill with deep academic insight and a holistic, performance-focused approach to patient care. His experience across military neurosurgery, complex spinal pathology, and rehabilitation allows him to manage highly challenging cases with clarity, balance, and sound clinical judgement. He communicates exceptionally well and is widely respected by patients and colleagues alike. I would...
