Mr Tamer Abdelmoniem

booked an appointment with Mr Abdelmoniem for a second opinion regarding my severe endometriosis, pelvic floor dysfunction and neurological symptoms. I had previously felt that these were being considered as separate clinical problems. Mr Abdelmoniem was the first clinician to consider the potential overlap and recognise that the uncertainty warranted further investigation. Regardless of the outcome, I felt listened to and heard, which has been invaluable.

Listened, showed care and compassion

Mr Abdelmoniem listened to my concerns and made several recommendations to try and resolve my issues.

Easy and quick

I am a very anxious patient and was incredibly worried about having a hysteroscopy. Mr Abdelmoniem was very kind and discussed all the concerns I had and explained the options for sedation, general anaesthetic or other pain relief. With his thorough explanation and reassurance, I was able to have the procedure performed on two occasions with only local anaesthetic (my preference despite being very nervous, but wanted to try due to other health issues). Throughout both hysteroscopies, Mr Abdelmoniem was very kind and took things at a pace I could manage, and constantly checked that I was ok throughout the procedures and obtaining biopsies that were needed. I was not rushed at any point and knew that if I couldn’t cope, it would not be a problem to stop which was also very reassuring. I wouldn’t hesitate to highly recommend Mr Abdelmoniem for his excellent care, understanding, compassion and high quality support for nervous patients and for making sure any questions were answered and explanations were clear too.

Poor understanding of what to expect at 12 week follow up, would have been better if this had been communicated earlier

I had a wonderful experience with Mr Tamer Abdelmoniem. He was incredibly attentive, compassionate, and took the time to listen to all my concerns without making me feel rushed. He explained everything clearly and made me feel completely comfortable and well cared for throughout the entire visit. I needed to be listened to about my medical history, my current condition and my own thoughts about how yo progress. Unfortunately on the NHS I haven't been given that opportunity and feel like time and money is getting wasted, potentially yo the detriment of my health so it was good to spend time with Mr Abdelmoniem and go through everything and discuss possible outcomes. I feel better about what's happening now and my mind is clearer.

Very understanding and feel listened to

I have been in and out of gynaecology hospitals for about 15 years in different countries. Although I have met many good doctors, Dr Tamer is by far one of the most professional, patient and clear I have spoken with. He explained everything with evidence, clarity and care. By the end of my consultation, I had no doubt that if and when I do go in for surgery, he will do everything possible in my best interest.
