About Mr Tamer Abdelmoniem

Mr Tamer Abdelmoniem is an experienced Consultant Gynaecologist based at Princess Anne Hospital, University Hospital Southampton. He has over twenty years of experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

He undertook his initial medical training in Egypt, where he received comprehensive training at one of the largest women's health hospitals in the Middle East.

With a particular interest in minimally invasive surgery, he then pursued additional training in the UK, completing a Fellowship in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with a special interest in minimal access surgery.

Recently, he has expanded his minimal access skills to include robotic surgery. Similarly, he has developed a strong interest in neuropelveology, a new discipline that involves the diagnosis and management of pelvic nerve disorders.

Alongside his training, he has a comprehensive academic portfolio, having attained Membership to the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and an MSc degree in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, as well as a Professional Diploma in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery.

During his fellowship at University Hospital Southampton, he underwent advanced training accredited by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, focusing on gynaecological surgery and developing expertise in advanced laparoscopic techniques, particularly in the management of endometriosis. He is also highly trained in gynaecological ultrasound and uses this regularly as part of the diagnostic process.

Mr Abdelmoniem is dedicated to providing compassionate and comprehensive care to his patients. He is a great believer in personalised care and shared decision making.
