I am a Consultant Ophthalmologist and for most of my career have specialised in corneal diseases. For many years I was the lead surgeon for corneal transplantation at Sunderland Eye Infirmary. I performed penetrating, deep lamellar and endothelial corneal transplants. I published papers on chemical eye injuries and performed limbal stem cell transplants to rehabilitate severely injured eyes.  I used autologous and donor serum eye drops to treat  patients with severe dry eyes.

In my later years in the Hospital Eye Service I performed a great many YAG laser procedures and actively promoted one-stop, rapid access YAG laser treatment.

I now run a local one-stop service for minor eyelid conditions under the NHS, and consult at a fully equipped private clinic in Newcastle offering innovative solutions for patients suffering from dry eye.  Dry eye treatments that we can offer include:-
