Dr Stefen Brady

Dr Stefen Brady is a highly regarded Consultant Neurologist and Myologist who specialises in the diagnosis and management of neuromuscular and muscle diseases. With a reassuring and patient-centred approach, he is dedicated to providing comprehensive care for individuals experiencing complex neurological conditions. His clinical focus encompasses a wide range of muscle disorders, including muscular dystrophy, inflammatory myopathies, and rare mitochondrial disorders. He also provides expert clinical guidance on muscle biopsies to ensure precise diagnostic pathways for his patients.

Dr Brady began his medical journey at Trinity College Medical School in Dublin, where he obtained his primary medical degree. He subsequently completed his higher specialist neurology training in Yorkshire, followed by advanced training in muscle diseases at leading clinical centres in Oxford and London. Demonstrating a strong commitment to clinical research, he was awarded a DPhil by the University of Oxford in 2014 for his doctoral thesis on inclusion body myositis. His academic and clinical training has been supported by prestigious fellowships, including a clinical fellowship funded by a national muscular dystrophy charity.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Brady is actively involved in leading specialised clinical services. He serves as the Clinical Lead for a multidisciplinary adult muscle service and works as an Adult Neurologist within a nationally commissioned highly specialised service for rare mitochondrial disorders. Through these roles, he collaborates closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated, high-quality care and contribute to translational research aimed at improving patient outcomes.
