Dr Sophia Than is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist with extensive experience in the management of complex gastrointestinal and liver conditions. She provides private care at The Harborne Hospital in Birmingham and holds a substantive NHS consultant post at University Hospital Coventry NHS Trust, where she has been practising since 2020.
Her clinical expertise covers a broad range of hepatobiliary and gastrointestinal disorders, with a particular focus on liver disease. She specialises in the assessment and management of conditions affecting both the liver and the gut, including inflammatory bowel disease, reflux disorders, functional bowel conditions and abnormal liver function. Dr Than is always fantastic. I absolutely hate endoscopy’s but all the staff and Dr Than do a great job and I know I am in great hands.
The doctor (and all staff involved) was very kind and reassuring, especially as I had never had a gastroscopy done before. She explained everything before and during the procedure, as well as summarising the results straight away.
