About Dr. Huma Naqvi

A Consultant Physician in Geriatric Medicine and General Internal Medicine with extensive experience of managing complex older adults and in the peri and post operative care of surgery (orthopaedics and General Surgery) in a substantive  consultant position at Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust 

Graduated from the University of Leicester in 2000, completion of Geriatric Medicine and General Medicine training in the West Midlands in 2013. Her clinical expertise includes the assessment and management of all geriatric syndromes (including frailty, Parkinsons Disease, immobility/falls and osteoporosis), particularly in the setting of perioperative care.She has extensive experience in Adult General Internal Medicine, including same day emergency care and care across core medical specialties that would normally
present to ED/acute medicine. 

Beyond clinical practice, she has held a number of key education roles and have been in training programme director roles for Foundation resident doctors and currently oversee Geriatric Medicine specialty resident doctors in a senior programme director role. I have a keen interest in resident doctor training and wellbeing, currently holding a key role in senior medic wellbeing. 

Her core skills are to provide holistic care to the older adult, ensuring every patient receives care that meets their individual needs.
