Dr Sonia Khamis

Dr Sonia Khamis is a Consultant Paediatric Neurologist who specialises in general paediatrics and paediatric neurology. Providing objective, reassuring, and family-centred care, Dr Khamis focuses on delivering thorough clinical evaluations and comprehensive management for infants, children, and adolescents experiencing complex neurological conditions.

Her clinical practice encompasses a wide spectrum of paediatric neurological conditions, with particular expertise in complex and drug-resistant epilepsy. Dr Khamis conducts evaluations for epilepsy surgery, oversees ketogenic diet therapy in collaboration with specialist dietitians, and provides Vagus Nerve Stimulation management. Additionally, she manages neuroinflammatory disorders, autoimmune encephalitis, demyelinating conditions, and a variety of intricate neurological presentations.

Dr Khamis earned her primary medical qualifications with an MBChB with Merit. She completed her Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Paediatric Neurology through Health Education England in London. Her professional qualifications also include membership of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (MRCPCH) and Arab Board certification in Paediatrics.
