Dr Sinead Langan

Dr Sinead Langan is a highly respected Consultant Dermatologist and Professor of Clinical Epidemiology who specialises in the diagnosis and management of chronic inflammatory skin conditions. Dedicated to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care, she provides comprehensive clinical assessments for patients seeking expert guidance on complex dermatological conditions. Her clinical work focuses primarily on Medical Dermatology, with a particular emphasis on managing severe eczema and psoriasis to help patients achieve long-term relief and optimal skin health.

Alongside her clinical practice, Dr Langan is an influential academic researcher whose work explores how routine health data can be used to better understand skin diseases. She leads major international research initiatives focused on inflammatory skin disorders and gene-environment interactions, contributing to improved disease definitions and personalised treatment approaches. Through her extensive research contributions, leadership roles in international dermatoepidemiological networks, and participation in global medical initiatives, she actively works to advance standards of skin care worldwide.

Dr Langan completed her primary medical degree, MB BCh BAO with Honours, at The Queen's University of Belfast. She subsequently earned a PhD from the University of Nottingham and completed a Master of Science degree. A Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP UK) and a Fellow of the Association of Physicians of Great Britain and Ireland, Dr Langan also holds committee and advisory roles with leading medical organisations, including the British Association of Dermatologists and the National Eczema Society.
