Dr Eirini Merika is a Consultant adult and paediatric Dermatologist at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. She is the current Service Director for Dermatology and is also the clinical lead for the acne service. She has also served as the local training lead for dermatology and has been principle investigator for clinica trials.
She sees patients with a wide range of conditions including acne, actinic keratoses, atopic eczema, folliculitis, hair loss, psoriasis, skin cancer, skin infections, and vitiligo. She also performs skin surgery for benign skin lesions, basal cell carcinoma, and skin cancer.
Dr Merika qualified in 2007 from University College London. She has also intercalated in Human Genetics. She became a member of the Royal College of Physicians in 2010 and a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in 2019. She is also a member of a number of other professional associations including the British Association Of Dermatologists, the British Society of Dermatological Surgery, and the Royal Society of Medicine.
Dr Merika has a keen interest in research and does this alongside her clinical work. She is also involved in medical education and teaches junior trainees, medical undergraduates, and general practitioners.

Lovely derm super efficient and so down to earth

We took our teenage daughter, who suffers from acne, to Dr Merika to find a solution to her problems. Our GP has never been very helpful so we thought going to a dermatologist is the next step. Dr Merika is knowledgeable and experienced, treating acne is her speciality. She made us feel welcome and she was happy to answer all our questions.. She wrote a skin care program for our daughter and explained everything we needed to know about acne and how to treat it. We would highly recommend Dr Merika.

Dr Merika is an excellent colleague to work with, in the Skin Cancer Multi-Disciplinary Team setting where dermatologists and plastic surgeons work together on a regular basis, but also for other non-cancer referrals. On a personal note, she has treated a close member of my family with dignity, respect and a clear explanation that was understood.
