Ms Sheryl Braidwood

Sheryl Braidwood is an HCPC-registered Podiatry Specialist (HCPC No: CH15026) with over two decades of clinical experience across acute NHS healthcare, community practice, and private podiatric care. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Podiatry from Glasgow Caledonian University in 2001 and has since completed postgraduate qualifications in non-medical prescribing alongside a Postgraduate Diploma (PgDip) in Podiatric Medicine.

Her advanced clinical expertise centres on lower limb peripheral vascular disease, diabetic foot protection, complex lower limb wound management, and performance sports podiatry, where she provides specialised care for national and elite athletes. She played a key role in establishing and sustaining an innovative virtual multidisciplinary diabetic foot disease team to optimise patient outcomes.

Sheryl is a Fellow of the Faculty of Podiatric Medicine at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (FFPM RCPS Glasg.), where she also serves as Honorary Secretary. A recognised clinical leader and educator, she contributes to national steering groups for lower limb vascular assessment, prevention, and management while actively mentoring advanced podiatry practitioners.

• Diabetic Foot & Vascular Care: Diabetic foot risk assessments, diabetic ulcer prevention, peripheral vascular disease evaluation, lower limb Doppler arterial studies, and complex wound management
• Sports Podiatry & Athletic Performance: Lower limb biomechanical evaluation, gait analysis, sports injury management, and performance footcare for elite and national athletes
• Specialist Podiatric Therapies & Surgery: Advanced nail surgery consultations, non-medical prescribing for complex lower limb conditions, and routine/complex podiatric care
