Mr Shahzad Sarwar

Dr Sarwar has obtained his undergraduate qualification from Allama Iqbal Medical college affliated with Punjab University Lahore Pakistan. He achieved Certificate
of Satisfactory Completion of post graduate Specialist Training (CSCST) in Internal Medicine
& Gastroenterology from the Irish Committee for Higher Medical Training, Royal
College of Physicians of Ireland in 2011. He joined as full time Consultant Gastroenterologist in Diana Princes of Wales Hospital Grimsby , NLAG NHS foundation trust in 2013. He runs his private practice from St Hugh's Hospital. He is also serving his Trust as gastroenterology lead.

Dr Sarwar has gained extensive experience in the management of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) through the training and through managing extensive cohort of IBD patients in his NHH practice. He offers management of dyspepsia, dysphagia due to variety of reasons, Barrett's oesophagus, peptic ulcer disease, functional bowel diseases like irritable bowel syndrome, pancreatic diseases and variety of liver and biliary disorders.

Dr sarwar has extensive experience in both diagnostic and therapeutic upper gastrointestinal procedures. He provide endoscopic therapy for oesophageal and gastric varices including band ligation, sclerotherapy and the use of Histoacryl glue, oesophageal dilatation for strictures, endoscopic therapy for bleeding peptic ulcers, insertion of percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy feeding tubes and insertion of naso-jejunal tubes,

Dr Sarwar has extensive experience in diagnostic and therapeutic colonoscopy and provides snare polypectomy, removal of polyps by endo-mucosal resection technique and angiodysplasia treatment with argon plasma coagulation.
