Dr Shahin Barati

Dr Shahin Barati is a highly dedicated Consultant in Acute Internal Medicine and General Internal Medicine based in London. He provides expert care for adult patients, specialising in emergency care and the management of acute medical conditions. With a patient-centred approach, Dr Barati is committed to delivering high-quality, reassuring, and evidence-based medical care to those requiring urgent and general medical attention.

Dr Barati qualified as a medical doctor in 1998, obtaining his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree. He initially worked as a General Practitioner abroad before relocating to the United Kingdom, where he undertook structured postgraduate training in internal medicine. He successfully completed his specialist training in acute internal medicine in April 2024. Dr Barati is an accredited PACES Examiner for the Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians (MRCP(UK)) and holds professional memberships with the Society for Acute Medicine and the Intensive Care Society.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Barati is deeply involved in medical education and clinical leadership. He serves as an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at a leading London university, as well as the Undergraduate Lead and the Unit Training Lead for acute medicine. He is a qualified supervisor for Focused Acute Medicine Ultrasound (FAMUS) and holds accredited qualifications in Focused Ultrasound in Intensive Care (FUSIC). Furthermore, he contributes to national medical training as an accredited IMPACT Course Director with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and is an active member of the steering group for the acute medicine virtual ward.
