Dr Sarah Boutros

Dr Sarah Boutros is a highly dedicated Consultant Paediatrician who specialises in general paediatrics and child safeguarding. She serves as a Joint Clinical Lead for General Paediatrics and is the Clinical Lead for a specialised regional service supporting children and young people who have experienced or are at risk of sexual abuse and exploitation. Throughout her career, Dr Boutros has demonstrated a profound commitment to providing compassionate, trauma-informed care to vulnerable young patients, ensuring they receive the holistic support and medical attention they require.

Her clinical interests extend significantly into the fields of child protection, safeguarding, and the health of migrant and refugee children. Dr Boutros is actively involved in national advocacy and research, focusing on improving healthcare access for marginalised groups, including victims of modern slavery and human trafficking. She works collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement trauma-informed safeguarding practices, helping to shape local and national responses to complex child health and protection challenges.

Dr Boutros completed her medical training, earning her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree. She subsequently obtained her Master of Science (MSc) in Advanced Paediatrics from University College London, where her research focused on trauma-informed care for trafficked children and young people. She is a Member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (MRCPCH) and is fully registered on the General Medical Council's Specialist Register for Paediatrics.
