Dr. Sana Hamid

Dr. Sana Hamid is a highly dedicated Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon who specialises in complex glaucoma management and cataract care. Known for her meticulous clinical standards and compassionate approach, she delivers personalised, evidence-based care tailored to protect and improve her patients' vision. Dr. Hamid works closely with each individual to formulate structured treatment plans, ensuring they feel fully supported, well-informed, and confident throughout every stage of their care.

Her clinical practice encompasses a broad range of surgical and medical interventions for ocular conditions. Dr. Hamid possesses extensive expertise in micro-incisional cataract surgery as well as sophisticated surgical procedures for primary and secondary glaucoma. Her areas of clinical focus include minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), traditional filtration surgery, and targeted laser procedures. Alongside her clinical practice, she is deeply engaged in research and patient education, having co-authored comprehensive digital learning resources to empower patients managing long-term eye conditions.

Dr. Hamid completed her undergraduate medical education at St George's University of London, graduating with a First Class Honours Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science in 2009 and a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with Merit in Clinical Practice in 2012. She subsequently undertook specialist training in Ophthalmology, attaining Fellowship of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists in 2017 and Fellowship of the European Board of Ophthalmology in 2019. To complement her leadership in surgical training and academics, she earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Education in 2024. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, a Fellow of the European Board of Ophthalmology, and an active member of the UK and Eire Glaucoma Society.
