Mr Samiul Muquit

Mr Samiul Muquit is an accomplished Consultant Neurosurgeon who provides high-quality, comprehensive care for patients requiring specialist brain and spinal intervention. Known for his methodical and reassuring approach, he diagnoses and manages a wide array of complex cranial, neurological, and spinal conditions. Working alongside multidisciplinary healthcare teams, Mr Muquit is dedicated to tailoring individualised treatment plans that utilise advanced, evidence-based surgical techniques to achieve the best possible patient outcomes.

His sub-specialty interests encompass anterior skull base surgery, endoscopic skull base surgery, pituitary surgery, neuro-endoscopy, and complex spinal procedures. Mr Muquit routinely manages conditions such as trigeminal neuralgia, facial pain, hemifacial spasm, and normal pressure hydrocephalus, alongside degenerative spinal disorders such as sciatica, cervical radiculopathy, cervical myelopathy, and lumbar canal stenosis. Additionally, his clinical expertise extends to neuro-oncology, including the surgical treatment of brain and skull base tumours such as meningiomas, as well as general neurosurgery and neurotrauma care.

Mr Muquit completed his medical degree at St Bartholomew's School of Medicine, University of London, qualifying in 2002. He also holds a Bachelor's degree in Neurosciences from the University of London and a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Education. Following his junior surgical training, he undertook higher neurosurgical training and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Neurosurgery in 2013. He subsequently completed subspecialist fellowship training in complex spine surgery, followed by further subspecialist fellowship training in skull base and pituitary surgery. In addition to his clinical practice, Mr Muquit serves as an Honorary Clinical Lecturer and an examiner for the European Board Examination in Neurosurgery. He maintains active professional memberships with the Society of British Neurological Surgeons and the European Association of Neurological Societies.
