Absolutely brilliant skilled surgeon who saved my husbands life, who kept me his wife informed every step of the way, we can not thank Mr Teo enough for what he has done for my husband, if it was not for Mr Teo and his discussion making and his skill my husband would not be with us today, 10 out of 10 for mr Teo and that’s not still enough.

Mr Teo and the team did an excellent job of the surgery - it was successful, no complications and the scar left was very neat and barely visible. It was also arranged very quickly, with a surgery date confirmed within a few days. Personally I would have liked a little more explanation of what the surgery would involve prior to the procedure (plus expected post-op recovery), but I appreciate consult time can be limited and I probably didn’t ask as many questions as I should have, as the news of requiring surgery was unexpected, so you don’t always think to ask certain questions in the moment.

I will be forever grateful to Mr Teo. His surgical skill has meant minimal long term effects despite such an extensive surgery. He is also a wonderful human being. Kind, compassionate and reassuring which was much needed at such a vulnerable time. He always answers my questions in a way I can understand and seeks to understand my concerns and what is important to me. I feel truly lucky that he has been my surgeon (twice!)

I moved alone to the United Kingdom from my home, 11,000 km away, and began experiencing symptoms without finding any answers. In March 2025, I was alone in a hospital room at 11 p.m. when Dr. Mario Teo entered, introduced himself with kindness, and explained that at 8 a.m. the next morning they could perform a craniotomy to remove a tumor over 5 cm in size (Vestibular Schwannoma). There are no words to fully describe the fear, vulnerability, and loneliness I felt at that moment. I had to place my trust in a stranger, far from home, in another language. Following the surgery, I remained in hospital for more than 40 days. The care, compassion, and professionalism shown by the 7A ward team, Dr. Mario Teo, and Michael Poon is something I will be forever grateful for. They addressed every question and concern with patience and warmth, making me feel safe and supported throughout my recovery. Three months later, I have no lasting effects—apart from the expected hearing loss in my right ear. Dr. Teo performed outstandingly, preserving the surrounding nerves, and everything else is working perfectly. I am living without pain for the first time in years. I have started making plans for the future again, regaining the joy of living, and I will always honor the impeccable work of Dr. Teo and his team at Southmead Hospital.

I'm truly dreadful to Mr. TEO and his team for what they have done for me. After having a first seizure followed up by scans, I was found to have a cavernous hemangioma on my left temporal lobe. I was put under the attention of different neurosurgeon of which surgery was offered, only for my care to be handed over to Mr. Teo due to the precious needing time away. Thankfully though Mr. Teo arranged a separate consultation for me to meet him and talk about my plan going forward, he gave me my options and ran through the details again, of which due to the positives told to me even out of fear of surgery I couldn't say no. I will say that meeting your surgeon before hand and knowing there expertise and experience in the roll helps ease your nerves, as well as putting a face to who's care you'll be under. I asked for my op to be done ASAP as i wanted to move forward with my life and get past a low point, of which I was offered a date in a short space of time thankfully. Things moved fairly quickly from that point onward though, it is for the best, as holding off and watching on to fear and worry is not a good road to go down, so I tried my best to think of the good outcomes told to me. The operation went well, after my operation I was looked after thoroughly by staff of the hospital and Mr. Teo came round after a day or two of recovery to see how I was getting along which was a nice touch. My surgical wound was done in a thought through manner behind my hairline so that my hair may grow back over to almost keep attention away from the spot in the future, it has healed rema...
