About Dr Sameer Sighakoli
Dr Sameer Kumar Sighakoli is a Consultant Physician in General Medicine, Diabetes and Endocrinology. He has been working as a substantive consultant at Medway Maritime Hospital since 2017. Since his appointment, he has held a number of roles at the hospital, including Patient Safety Lead and Clinical Lead for Diabetes. He is currently the Audit Lead for the Division of Specialty Medicine and also serves as a Deputy Royal College Tutor.
Dr Sighakoli completed his higher specialist training in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology in the Kent, Surrey and Sussex deanery. His training included a specialist placement at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital. He provides care for a wide range of general medical, diabetes and endocrine conditions.
His clinical interests include diabetes in young adults, diabetes mellitus, insulin pump therapy, thyroid and parathyroid disorders, calcium metabolism, pituitary and adrenal conditions, hypogonadism, and medical weight loss treatment.
He consults privately at KIMS Hospital and continues his NHS work at Medway NHS Foundation Trust.

I've been really pleased with my treatment plan and the care I have received.
We were extremely impressed with the care we received during our consultation. The doctor was thorough, professional, and took the time to explain the diagnosis clearly and in a way we could fully understand. He did not rush the appointment and made us feel genuinely listened to. He addressed all of our concerns thoughtfully and with patience, and we felt valued not only as patients but as individuals. At what has been a very stressful time, his calm and reassuring manner made a significant difference to us. We left the appointment feeling informed, supported, and confident in the plan moving forward. We are very grateful for his care.
His explanations were wonderful & I was accompanied by my daughter in law, or by my 2nd son & his explanations did include them too.
Dr Sighakoli took time to listen, was clear in his recommendations for tests and was very courteous and sympathetic when explaining the results of those test. I was very happy to have chosen him for my consultation.
