Mr Ramesh De Silva

Dr. Ramesh De Silva is a Consultant Cardiologist with over a decade of experience in the treatment and management of cardiac conditions such as heart failure, angina, shortness of breath, valvular heart disease, high blood pressure, and cardiomyopathy. He sees private patients at the BMI Manor Hospital.

Dr. De Silva earned his primary medical qualification at the University of Leeds in 1995, after which he undertook his training in general medicine and cardiology in Yorkshire. Dr. De Silvia then studied toward his Doctorate in Cardiac imaging and heart failure, and continued his training in cardiology in Cambridge and Leicester, at the Papworth Hospital and the Essex Cardiothoracic Centre & Glenfield Hospital. Dr. De Silva was then awarded the opportunity to train at Lenox Hill Hospital, New York, where he gained knowledge and expertise in coronary intervention and coronary CT angiography. Upon completion of his training, he was appointed Consultant at Bedford and Papworth Hospital.

Since his appointment, Dr. De Silva has aided in the establishment of the Bedford angioplasty Hospital, where he carries out several emergency angioplasty procedures on heart attack patients. Dr. De Silva is an active member of the research community, authoring several peer-reviewed articles in renowned cardiology journals.
