About Dr Philip Moore
Dr. Philip Moore is a highly experienced consultant cardiologist. He is experienced in all aspects of general cardiology and regularly sees patients with symptoms such as chest pain, shortness of breath, palpitations and blackouts. He performing non-invasive outpatient investigations such as ECG, echocardiography (ultrasound of heart), holter ECG monitoring and blood pressure monitoring.
Dr. Moore is a specialist in implantable cardiac devices (pacemakers, implantable defibrillators and biventricular pacing) and specialises in heart rhythm disorders. He implants pacemakers and defibrillators and supervises long term follow-up and programming; ensuring that patients are supported in their recovery from surgery and creating excellent outcomes.
As well as his busy practice, Dr. Moore is a passionate educator and is heavily involved in the training of cardiology junior doctors and specialist registrars. He is also the course organiser for ECG training courses for doctors, nurses and paramedics and teaches extensively on pacemaker training courses nationally and internationally. He chaired the recent European Society of Cardiology Committee responsible for producing the 2024 Training Curriculum for Cardiologists specialising in heart rhythm disorders and pacemaker and cardiac device implantation.

After having a unique episode, the consultations were efficient, and thorough, giving me assurance of what caused it, how to prevent it and I felt assured that all relatable areas had been investigated.
Dr Moore is a very approachable and pleasant man who listens attentively and adjusts his manner to the people and their circumstances. My wife and I both have reason to be under his care and we trust him entirely. After being monitored for over 18 months for heart valve issues, I was sent by Dr Moore for aortic valve replacement surgery to the most appropriate surgeon at one of the best hospitals. I cannot recommend him more highly.
Dr Moore was patient, calm and reassuring, taking time to listen to my symptoms and ensure that I understood the possible causes, investigations required and treatment. He was extremely personable and I felt very reassured after my follow up consultation.
Follow up echo cardiogram plus consultation - extremely professional, put me at ease from the start and carefully explained results which Dr Moore then went on to use in justifying treatment.

Dr Moore is a very professional and personable man. His care and advice have always given me peace of mind and confidence that my condition is managed to the best of its ability.
Dr Moore deals with me in a relaxed but highly professional manner which instils confidence in my dealings with him on many occasions over at least 10 years, especially in recent weeks over a problematic problem with a recently fitted pacemaker.
A very well organised procedure (ICD)from start to finish. Arrived at Watford General ( Cardiology)as private patient at 0800. Very well looked after throughout. Staff were excellent as of course was Consultant Dr Philip Moore. Discharged and home by 1700.
