Dr Ruud Nijman is a dedicated Consultant Paediatrician and Consultant in Paediatric Emergency Medicine, offering expert care to infants, children, and young people with acute healthcare needs. He delivers empathetic, family-centred care, ensuring that families feel supported and informed throughout every stage of assessment and treatment. His practice is grounded in a gentle, reassuring approach that prioritises patient safety, rapid diagnostic evaluation, and comfort during urgent medical situations.

Dr Nijman possesses extensive clinical expertise in paediatric emergency care, specialising in acute childhood infections, severe fever, and paediatric sepsis. His clinical focus encompasses the rapid recognition of serious bacterial infections, clinical decision-making, and the application of innovative point-of-care diagnostic tools to guide immediate care. Additionally, Dr Nijman is deeply committed to empowering families through clear patient education, helping parents understand acute symptoms and treatment plans with confidence.

Dr Nijman completed his initial medical training at Erasmus University Rotterdam, qualifying in 2007. He subsequently earned a Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology in 2011, followed by a Doctorate in Paediatrics in 2014. He holds professional memberships with prominent international medical bodies, including serving on the executive committee of the European Society of Emergency Paediatrics and maintaining an active role in the Research in European Paediatric Emergency Medicine network.
