Dr Robert Ritchie

Dr Robert Ritchie is an accomplished Consultant Urological Surgeon specialising in general urology, uro-oncology, and endourology. He provides comprehensive diagnostic assessments and care for patients experiencing a broad spectrum of urological conditions. Known for his compassionate and patient-centred approach, Dr Ritchie works closely with individuals to develop tailored treatment plans designed to achieve the best possible clinical outcomes.

In his clinical practice, Dr Ritchie focuses on the management of kidney cancer as well as benign prostatic conditions. He is highly skilled in advanced minimally invasive surgical techniques, including laparoscopic and robotic-assisted procedures for upper tract urological conditions. In addition, he performs Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate (HoLEP) for patients requiring treatment for prostate enlargement, alongside open surgical techniques when clinically indicated.

Dr Ritchie completed his undergraduate medical studies at the University of Southampton, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine with Distinction. He subsequently undertook specialist surgical training in Oxford, obtaining his Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons and becoming a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Urology. Dr Ritchie was also awarded a Doctor of Philosophy (DPhil) from the University of Oxford for his clinical research into high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) applications in renal cancer. He maintains active professional membership with the British Association of Urological Surgeons.
