Myself and my family would like to thank Mr James Manner, for at first, treating me as a part of his family member and giving the confidence that he will do his utmost best for the TURBT procedure. That you were not under any pressure of time and that you do would what was necessary was so reassuring. Secondly thanks for the excellent surgery. Today is just the first day after surgery and i feel absolutely normal. Also, a shout out and thanks to the entire staff for their excellent support and care.

I cannot recommend Dr Tamsin Drake highly enough. After 18 months of debilitating bladder pain and urgency caused by recurring flares of interstitial cystitis (IC)/bladder sensitivity, my quality of life had been significantly affected. Even something as simple as having a drink had become difficult, as I could tolerate little other than water and milk without triggering symptoms. Having previously sought specialist advice elsewhere, I had been left with the impression that there were very limited treatment options available to me, other than much more invasive, higher-risk interventions if my condition became severe enough. My experience with Dr Drake was completely different. From the outset, she took my symptoms seriously, listened carefully and offered a proactive, considered approach to treatment. To my amazement, a relatively simple, low-risk first-line treatment involving a combination of antihistamines has almost completely resolved my symptoms. The difference to my quality of life has been extraordinary. I can now enjoy things I had long since given up on, including something as simple as a cup of coffee, without the constant fear of triggering a flare. What strikes me most is that such a straightforward treatment has made such a profound difference after 18 months of struggling. I am incredibly grateful to Dr Drake for her knowledge, compassion and willingness to explore treatment options rather than accepting that these symptoms were simply something I had to live with. The urologist is very knowledgeable and empathetic to my ailment. He promised to try his best to bring the operation forward and gave me advice on how to strengthen the bladder and what the surgery was all about. Looking forward to a successful surgery by God's grace.

Discussion of kidney issues

All the staff were very polite and helpful, I was only in the waiting room for a few minutes before the pre- operation checks were made. I met the consultant who informed me of what to expect before and during the operation, and what I should do with wound care after the operation, together with the length of time for everything returning to normal and if I had any problems not to hesitate in calling the hospital or my GP. I was made to feel at ease, had a conversation with my consultant during the operation and never felt a thing after the initial injection. All in all a pleasant experience throughout.
