Mr Rotimi David

Mr Rotimi David is a consultant urological surgeon with special interests in Holmium laser enucleation of the prostate (HoLEP), Steam ablation of the Prostate (REZUM), Prostatic Urethral Lift (UroLIFT) and other advanced operations for benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH). He led the set up of the service for HoLEP, REZUM and transurethral laser ablation of bladder tumours (TULA) from scratch at the Dorset County Hospital Dorchester where he is also currently the clinical governance lead.

In addition, Mr David is proficient in all aspects of General urology including transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP), penoscrotal surgery, management of recurrent UTIs, bladder pain syndrome, raised PSA and prostate cancer diagnosis, amongst others.

Rotimi David completed his medical degree in 2006 at the College of Medicine, University of Ilorin, Nigeria as the best graduating doctor and achieving a distinction in pharmacology and the highest grade in pathology. Thereafter, he completed specialist urology training spanning more than a decade and spread across Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa, United States of America and the United Kingdom.

Mr David has numerous publications with more than 2000 citations on Google Scholar. He is a reviewer for many journals and local lead for research projects and national audits such as BOOMERANG, COVIDStones, RESECT, IDENTIFY, among others.

Furthermore, he has won many awards including the International Development and Education Award of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the World Endo Scholar Award of the Endourological Society.

Outside of Medicine, he enjoys spending time with his young family, supporting a local church charity and cooking local delicacies.
