Mr Davies practices exclusively as a vascular specialist providing expert treatment to patients with arterial and venous disease both privately and within a busy NHS practice. Mr. Davies is the Head of Vascular Surgery at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust - a leading UK vascular centre with a national reputation for excellence in the field of peripheral arterial disease. He set up the Vascular Limb Salvage (VaLS) Service, a rapid access limb salvage service that has reduced amputations by 50% within Leicestershire, and pioneered the Vascular Limb Salvage Academy (ValSA) for which he was awarded ‘Most Inspiring Role Model’ by the University Hospitals of Leicester in 2018.

Mr. Davies has an extensive research portfolio and has published more than 40 scientific articles in peer reviewed journals and 10 book chapters in the field of vascular surgery. He was awarded a Medical Doctorate in surgery (MD) from the University of Birmingham for research in the field of endovascular (key-hole) aortic aneurysm surgery. Mr. Davies is involved in a number of national and international clinical trials ensuring his clients have access to the latest information and technologies relevant to their circulatory disease.

Mr Davies works collaboratively wtih three fellow vascular surgeons (Mr Gregory McMahon, Mr Harjeet Rayt, Mr Tryfon Vainas) providing specialist vascular and endovascular services in the private sector at Circulation Clinic (www.CirculationClinic.com). Our team working model of care allows our patients to benefit from the experience and expertise of four leading UK vascular surgeons; all complex arterial and venous cases are discussed within our multidisciplinary team (MDT) and managed within a collaborative working environment, including dual consultant operating lists, ensuring our clients are offered the best treatment available.

Qualifications

Mr. Davies graduated from the University of Birmingham and completed his specialist surgical training in vascular surgery in Birmingham, being admitted as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) in 2011. He was awarded the prestigious British Society of Endovascular Therapists (BSET) scholarship in 2011 during which he undertook post-certification specialist training in endovascular therapies including peripheral angioplasty and endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR).
