Mr Richard James

Mr Richard James is a Consultant Radiologist with a specialist interest in neuroradiology. His clinical practice focuses on the interpretation of complex neurological imaging, supporting the diagnosis and management of a wide range of neurological conditions.

Mr James holds the MB BCh medical degree and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists, having achieved Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR). He is also a member of the British Medical Association.

Alongside his clinical role, Mr James is actively involved in medical education. He teaches radiology trainees and holds the position of Clinical Tutor at the University of Bristol Medical School, where he contributes to undergraduate medical teaching and clinical training. His educational work supports the development of diagnostic imaging skills across different stages of medical training.

Mr James has particular research and teaching interests in stroke imaging and advanced neurological imaging techniques. His work in this area contributes to improving imaging pathways and diagnostic accuracy in acute and chronic neurological disease. Through his combined roles in clinical practice, education and research, he contributes to the delivery of high-quality radiology services and the ongoing training of future clinicians.
