Mr Riaz Mohammed

Mr Mohammed is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon with a specialist focus on spinal conditions and acute musculoskeletal trauma care. Dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality care, he treats a wide variety of structural, degenerative, traumatic, and infectious disorders of the spine. He works closely with each patient to alleviate persistent back and neck pain, restore physical function, and support long-term recovery through clear communication and tailored treatment plans.

He earned his medical degree in India before completing a three-year post-graduate degree in Trauma and Orthopaedics (MS Ortho) at Osmania Medical College in Hyderabad. Following his initial training, he moved to the United Kingdom to complete higher Orthopaedic surgical training across leading specialist institutions, including the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham and Wrightington Hospital in Lancashire. He holds the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Trauma and Orthopaedics (FRCS Tr&Orth). To develop advanced expertise in complex spinal techniques, he subsequently undertook three years of comprehensive fellowship training in spine surgery across prominent tertiary healthcare centres in Salford and Cardiff.

In his clinical practice, Mr Mohammed specialises in managing conditions across the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine, including degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, spondylosis, spondylolisthesis, and spinal fractures. His clinical approach integrates non-surgical therapies alongside precise surgical solutions. He performs targeted diagnostic and therapeutic pain procedures, such as nerve root injections, epidural injections, and nerve ablations, as well as complex reconstructive spine procedures, spinal decompression, and vertebral cement augmentation techniques such as vertebroplasty and kyphoplasty. Alongside his surgical work, he remains actively involved in clinical governance, research, and surgical training.
