Mr Ratukondla Ravikumar

Mr Ratukondla Ravikumar is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon working within BMI Healthcare in London. He has a keen interest in hip and knee surgeries as well as hand surgery.

He regularly sees patients for procedures including computer assisted total knee or hip replacements, ACL, PCL or Post-Lat reconstruction, knee arthroscopy, revision total knee replacements, primary total knee arthroplasty, total hip replacements and percutaneous trauma procedures.

Mr Ravikumar has a wealth of experience and training in orthopaedic surgery. After graduating from the University Of Madras in 1980, he came to the UK soon after to specialise in orthopaedics. He then went on to train at centres of excellence within Scotland and England, gaining invaluable experience in lower limb surgery. He also completed specialist training at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital London.

He has previously worked as a consultant at North Middlesex University Hospital in 2000, where he introduced Enhanced Recovery for hip and knee replacements. This is now a firmly established programme within the hospital and has led to shorter stays and improved quality of care for patients.

During his time working in orthopaedics, Mr Ravikumar has also been clinical lead, head of trauma and a deputy clinical director. He has also lectured on knee injuries and trauma internationally, and published papers in peer reviewed journals.
