Mr Philip Holland

Mr Holland is a highly experienced Consultant Shoulder Surgeon with busy practises at Nuffield Health Tees Hospital and South Tees NHS Trusts. He specialises in shoulder arthroscopy, shoulder replacement surgery and the management of complex upper‑limb injuries.

Appointed as a Consultant in 2016, Philip works within one of the UK’s busiest shoulder units, treating sports injuries, trauma, military patients and degenerative shoulder conditions. He is actively involved in national and international research, has published widely in peer‑reviewed orthopaedic journals, and reviews research for high‑impact publications including The Bone and Joint Journal and Shoulder and Elbow. 

Philip graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2005 and completed his surgical training in Merseyside, including advanced experience at the internationally recognised Wrightington Hospital. He went on to achieve a Master’s degree with Distinction from Salford University and completed specialist fellowship training in shoulder arthroscopy and arthroplasty with leading UK surgeons.

He delivers expert, patient‑centred care, helping individuals reduce pain, improve mobility and return to the activities they enjoy.
