Dr Philip Campbell

Dr Philip Campbell is a highly dedicated Consultant Cardiologist who provides comprehensive care for patients experiencing a wide range of cardiovascular conditions. With a reassuring and patient-centred approach, he specialises in diagnosing and managing heart rhythm disorders, heart failure, and chest pain. Dr Campbell has a particular clinical interest in cardiac pacing and complex cardiac devices, helping patients regain their quality of life through advanced therapeutic interventions.

Originally from Edinburgh, Dr Campbell completed his medical training in Wales before undertaking junior medical posts across Wales and London. He then pursued specialist training in Cardiology in the North East of England. To further refine his expertise, he participated in a cardiac research project in Australia focusing on cardiac CT imaging and later completed an advanced fellowship in complex cardiac devices in Canada. This extensive international and national training ensures that he brings a wealth of evidence-based knowledge to his clinical practice.

Dr Campbell obtained his primary medical qualification, a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBCh), from the University of Wales College of Medicine in 1992. He subsequently earned a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) from Newcastle University in 2007. Committed to maintaining the highest standards of clinical excellence, he was elected as a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh (FRCP) in 2012. Dr Campbell is also an active member of several prestigious professional bodies, including the British Cardiovascular Society and the Welsh Cardiovascular Society.
